Kirkwood
Neighbors' Organization (KNO) is a racially and economically diverse
civic organization devoted to the revitalization of Atlanta's historic
Kirkwood community. KNO meets on the 10th of each month at 7:00 p.m.
at the Turner
Monumental A.M.E. Church, 66 Howard Street NE. Everyone is welcome!
KNO members work together to make Kirkwood a better place to live
for all of us. Our programs include an ongoing tree-planting program,
neighborhood cleanups, a neighborhood newsletter and other community
projects. In 1999 we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding
of Kirkwood by sponsoring the Kirkwood Centennial Festival and Tour
of Homes. And perhaps most importantly, we serve as the voice of the
community to the City of Atlanta on issues such as zoning, land use,
conomic development and housing code enforcement. KNO membership is
$16 a year per household. Please show your support for Kirkwood by
joining KNO and participating in our activities. We always need more
volunteers to help out!
For more information on KNO or Historic Kirkwood, explore our web
site. Or call Doug Wood at 404-377-4253 or email him at wood11@mindspring.com. We look forward to
seeing you at the next KNO meeting! |
