Little Traverse Historical Museum will host corn on the cob, picnic

PETOSKEY – The Little Traverse Historical Museum invites the public to a roast corn barbecue from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 20.

The menu will include kids and hot dogs, tomato salad, watermelon, JW Filmore brownies, Northern Lights Recreation coleslaw, Oleson’s potato salad and cobs. of Grilled Corn from Bill’s Farm Market. Beer, wine and soft drinks will also be served. The barbecue will take place outside on the museum grounds at 100 Depot Ct. In Petoskey.

Tickets for the event are $ 20 for adults and $ 8 for children 12 and under. They can be purchased at the museum or www.petoskeymuseum.org. This event is a fundraiser for the Little Traverse Historical Society and is sponsored by Real Estate One.

The Little Traverse Historical Museum will also soon be hosting a porch picnic to honor its volunteers at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 26.

Picnic meals cost $ 20 per person and can also be ordered at www.petoskeymuseum.org.

The picnic will be followed by a free program at 7 p.m. on the history of B’Nai Israel Temple in Petoskey, the only Jewish synagogue in the region. Following the program, the museum will hold its annual meeting with a report from President Becky Goodman and CEO Jane Garver.

The museum’s summer hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission to the museum is $ 3 for adults. Members and children are always admitted free.
